The Parent Educator engages with parents with children (0-12 years), providing flexible, informal support and referral. Parents can request sessions on a variety of topics from increasing your child's self esteem to learning new and effective strategies to help better manage self care and challenging behaviours in children. In addition families can access support regarding parent/child relationships, parenting skills and child development activities.

Young Mum's

  • Young Mum's Group runs at the Salvation Army Ingle Farm. 1:1 mentoring support is available and any other assistance which may be needed to provide holistic care for mother and baby. Practical Workshops are also held regularly.
  • Referral to other programs as required.

Home Visiting

The Home visiting Service offers a service to families with children aged 0-12 who may have issues such as social isolation, maternal depression, parenting issues, mental health issues or who require general support. The Home Visiting Program also targets families who are not catered for by the Child and Youth Health extended visiting program.

Volunteering

There are many opportunities for community members to become involved, all volunteers are police checked. Training opportunities for volunteering in the home visiting program is offered twice a year.
